The Qingming Festival combines both natural and cultural connotations, and is both a traditional festival and a natural solar term. Qingming Festival is one of the twenty-four solar terms in China. The 108 days after the winter solstice are known as the Qingming Festival. The Qingming Festival falls after the spring equinox, when winter has passed and spring is abundant. The weather is clear, and the four fields are bright and clean. Nature is full of vitality everywhere.
The Qingming Festival originated from the ancestral beliefs and spring festival customs of ancient times. According to legend, it began with the ritual of "tomb sacrifice" by ancient emperors and generals, and later became imitated by the people, gradually leading to the practice of worshipping ancestors. Originally, Qingming Festival and Cold Food Festival were two separate festivals. In the Tang Dynasty, the day of worshipping and sweeping graves was designated as Cold Food Festival, so the two festivals became one, known as Qingming Festival. Through generations of inheritance, it has become a fixed custom of the Chinese nation.
